Getting to Chalet Kirsch

By air: Fly either Ryanair or Berlinair from Stansted to Salzburg. You can also fly directly to Salzburg from Birmingham, Bournmouth, Bristol, Coventry, Doncaster (Sheffield), Dublin, East Midlands and Manchester.

The Stansted 06-30 flight takes just under 2 hours arriving 09-25 at Salzburg local time.

We always prebook car hire at www.carrentals.co.uk who seem to get the best deals with local agents at Salzburg airport. On arrival we simply walk through passport control, pick up our bags, pick up car and about an hour later easy drive arrive at the house. We take our hand held Satnav because it makes things much less stressful and saves arguments with the navigator! This allows us to set off in early morning and be on the Angertal slopes by mid day!

We have excellent parking at the house. Its best to enter through our front gate and park(there is enough space for four or five cars) but leave via the back gate. Please keep the gates closed to ensure privacy.

By car: Drive via the channel tunnel then down through Germany avoiding French tolls. This takes approximately 12 hours plus breaks. We certainly recommend driving if staying more than a week as it's much cheaper!

By train: There are regular trains to Bad Gastein - the town is on the main line from Germany /Austria into Italy

Taxis: www.gasteintaxi.com offer fixed price pickup/transfers from Salzburg and Munich aiports to Gastein

Car hire: Can be organised from Salzburg airport. From here it's an easy 50 minute drive on the motorway direct to Gasteintal
